A strategy to help quiet unhelpful worry thoughts

--

Sometimes, when we worry about the future, we may temporarily have forgotten just how good we are at figuring things out when they come up, unexpectedly!

One way to help quiet unhelpful-worry thoughts: Turn your attention to your strengths. Remind yourself of how you can problem solve and adjust when needed.

Remind yourself of specific times when you were able to think on your feet and make choices to successfully move through an unexpected struggle.

Make a practice of it: take time to notice and name your strengths. Praise yourself when you successfully move through a challenge you couldn’t have predicted.

You can do this at times you experience unhelpful-worry-thoughts AND you can do it preemptively! You may notice some helpful shifts. Try it out. Report back.

Sending you love,
