Found a note that said “find reasons not to worry”
I found a scribbled note today that just read “find reasons NOT to worry.”
I’m fairly certain I wrote this down while listening to Pema Chodron’s audiobook, “Welcoming the Unwelcome.”
I can imagine many moments in the coming weeks where pausing and inviting myself to “find reasons not to worry” could help me better enjoy the present and enjoy looking forward to future plans.
(If you know me well, you know I have a natural tendency to spend more time than always necessary planning ahead to avoid potential struggles.)
So, in the coming days, I’ll have this post-it note in front of me: “Find reasons not to worry.”
Sure, its not applicable for all situations, but I have a feeling there will be more than a few times it comes in handy.
What do you think? Does this resonate with you? Something you might try on?
As always, I love hearing what you care to share.
(P.S. I love listening to audiobooks like “Welcoming the Unwelcome” while doing laundry, tidying, or other tasks around the house. While I don’t take nearly as many notes as I do when sitting and reading, I find it really nourishing to sometimes let books like this wash over me in a more relaxed way. I was extra delighted to discover the narrator was Claire Foy — who many of you know from playing Queen Elizabeth in seasons 1 & 2 “The Crown”)
Sending you love,
